Thursday.
While in NY for Resort 2013 presentation, Creative Director of BCBGMAXAZRIA, Lubov Azria, and Kelly Framel of http://TheGlamourai.com/hosted an intimate dinner with some of New York's most stylist editors and bloggers.
On June 5, Chicago unveiled the largest-ever public installation, Color Jam. It is a grand outdoor installation composed over 76,000 square feet of colored vinyl that’s covering various surfaces, like roads, crosswalks and buildings at the intersection of State and Adams. Multimedia artist Jessica Stockholder is behind this fun installation which is a three-dimensional homage to fabric artist Christo and commissioned by the Chicago Loop Alliance’s Art Loop. In creating “Color Jam,” Stockholder envisioned a “three dimensional painting,” spilling out of windows, through doors and into surrounding landscape. Color Jam will be on display until September. http:// artloop.chicagoloopalliance .com/

Trend Report: Red Candy
Its all about the electric red crop pant right now. A surprising yet traditional burst of color is added to spring outfits with a classic cut and slightly rolled cuff. The red trouser is a great mix of I don’t care I just threw this on this morning, but also polished and clean. It is definitely a buy now item. Here are some links to a few I love in particular. DVF. Mint Ice Cream
(Chanel Jade Polish: Richard Burbridge New York Times Style)
I have been searching for a new color combo inspiration for spring and at last I found it in the pixie-toned hues that made only a subtle appearance on the runways last fall but a major statement on the streets for the season. It’s almost a chalky washed out mint green, and when paired with basic staples like navy and cream the look is pulled together and brilliantly fresh. Chanel's Jade polish or Alexander Wang's mint mesh combo sweater are the perfect purchases to revive any spring wardrobe.

Cobalt Components
This liquid electric blue works perfectly as a seasonless neutral and adds a sophisticated pop of color to any outfit. Hat, shoe, jacket or clutch, the streets are swarming with the classic oxide derived hue. I am a huge fan of the floppy hat trend, and what better color to buy a trend piece in then cobalt blue!

Hyper Color
It has been a long time since we have seen color like this on the runway. The combination of wild saturated colors looks almost as if designers this year took out a crayon box, threw it against a wall of sketches and called it a day. Many designers incorporated color ranges in their S/S 11 shows that I have never seen before. Alexandre Herchcovitch showed a color palette so bright that his runway models had to wear sunglasses down the catwalk. The normally neutral Haider Ackermann incorporated vivid blues and intense reds with his usual blacks. Will hyper color stick around for seasons to come, or will it be a repeat of the neon fiasco of 2009? Monday, December 13, 2010
Pantone Announces Color Choice For 2011
Color in the fashion world is about to make a drastic metamorphosis. Breaking away from the subtle greys and beiges of 2010, emerges a shocking splash of vibrant color for 2011. Honeysuckle is the new it girl of the color world this year, and was chosen as the “brave new color, for a brave new world.” Honeysuckle was designed by Pantone to lift up the spirit, instill confidence, and get the adrenaline going.
This titillating new hue is exactly what the fashion world needs! Just look at the genius ways top designers Marc Jacobs, Elie Saab, and Valentino are finding to use this striking color. Not to mention how amazing Pantones collection of designer sketches look with the bold artistry of some of the industry’s best.
