Trend Report: Tech Accessories

Personal technology is so prevalent today that it's nearly impossible to go anywhere without seeing everyone around you utilizing smartphones, ipads, tablets or similar form of. Countless designers and companies are jumping to create cool new accessories for these daily necessities. The ever growing demand for tech accessories has smart companies working at a rapid pace to produce the next hot adornment or protective cover. I always wonder which came first; the development of protective tech gear, especially for apple products, or the fragile products themselves being designed to require expensive armor. Sure it looks cool to have a phone made entirely out of glass...that is until you tap it the wrong way and end up sporting a not so cool spiderweb and a $50 glass repair. BUT I do have to say there are so many gorgeous accessories out there it's easy to look past the possibly hidden money making agenda. The lanyard look is one of my new favs!

Head to Toe

Computer Aided Fashion Design

A mock up of a three piece collection I designed for Spring 13. Referencing the head to toe print trend I have created a Photoshop/Illustrator presentation highlighting my CAD skills, drawing ability, and personal style. By using gauzy Georgette and breezy silks the sometimes over the top tribal trend is softened out and highly wearable. Creating shadowing and contouring, scanning in original artwork, designing and then rendering my own designs in Illustrator flats, layering background and matting, uploading artistic fonts and formatting presentations are just a few functions I learned this year from my fabulous CAFD instructors at FIDM.
